Configure Outlook on your iPhone with M365/O365 account

1. Start with downloading Outlook in the App Store.


2. If you have MS Authenticator installed and your UMUid is already active on your device your account should be automatically found.

If so click Add Account and Outlook should sort out the rest.

If not, jump to step 3.

3 If no account is found, there should be a question if you want to add an account, press add

4 Enter your UMU email address.

5 If you have MFA activated you will be asked to open your authenticator and accept.

6 You could be redirected to an login page to Microsoft, enter your UMUid and @ad.umu.se like this: UMUid@ad.umu.se

7 If entered correctly you’ll be redirected to the login page for UMU, enter your username and password

8 If you try to add your outlook account with the same device you have MFA on you will have to click on Hide to see the numbers after 5 seconds the popup will appear again and you will be able to enter the code.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You’re done, Outlook will ask to add an additional account, just choose maybe later.

Activate weeknumbers in Outlook for Windows

When you start using your calendar in Outlook, the weekly numbering is disabled. If you want to activate it, do it yourself via the calendar options.

  1. Click the File tab.

  2. In the left corner, click Options.

  3. Click Calendar.
  4. Scroll down to Display Options, and select the Show Weekly numbers in the mouth view and in the Date Navigator.
  5. Click OK

  6. You now have weekly numbers on your caledar in Outlook.

Change primary e-mail for you who are a student

As Umeå University has switched to the new Ladok, it may be that the e-mail address you have used for your studies here is no longer the same as in Ladok. This may affect the ability to receive notifications from Canvas, Cambro or Moodle. Therefore, you need to log in and check your email address.

There are two ways.

Option 1

Go to https://www.umu.se/en/student/my-settings/ Requires login with Umu ID.

Option 2

Step 1

Go to https://www.student.ladok.se/student/loggain and click the Access through your institution button

Step 2

Type Umu in the Search field and Umea University is going to show up as below, click on the result.

Step 3

You will be redirected to the Umeå University login page.
Login with you UMU-id and Password

Step 4

Click on My pages in the menu to the right.

Step 5

Click on the Change contact details button.

Step 6

Add your private/personal e-mail address to the field E-mail (1) and click Save (2).

After you’ve done this it can take up to 15 min before all systems has been updated with you new e-mail address.

Student mail in your iPhone

To setup email on your iPhone/iPad

1. In Settings -> Mail -> Accounts.

2. Choose Add Account.

3. Choose Exchange.

4. Fill in your whole email address and a description of what you want the account to be named, then click on Next.

5. Write in your password and then click on Next.

6. Under Server, write in outlook.office365.com

7. Under Domain – leave this line blank.

8. Under Username write in your UmU-ID followed by @ad.umu.se and then Password.

9. Click on Next and then click on Save.

Student mail in your Android phone

To be able to access your email account on your telephone (@student.umu.se)

  1. Go in under Settings -> Accounts -> Email & app accounts.
  2. Choose Add an account.
  3. Choose Exchange.
  4. Type in your whole email address and click on Next.
  5. Type in outlook.office365.com under Server and fill in your Umu-id followed by @ad.umu.se
    Click on Next and then Save.

Configure email for iPhone

To setup email on your iPhone/iPad on Exchange server.

1. In Settings -> Password & Accounts or E-mail depending on the version of iOS.

2. Add Account and choose Exchange

3. Fill in your whole email address and a description of what you want the account to be named, then click on Next.

4. Chose Configure Manually

5. Write in your password and then click on Next.

6. Under Server, write webmail.umu.se
Under Domain, write ad
Under Username write your Umu-id and then Password. If it is OK you get a checkmark next to all fields.

7. Here you select witch services you want to activate.

8. Click on Next and then click on Save
